Blackbird Birthing is a home birth midwifery practice that provides full scope maternity care that includes all your needs, from prenatal appointments to placenta encapsulation. We currently serve families in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties in Southern California.

Raven is a licensed midwife who is fortunate to have the support of my loving husband and amazing son as she is supporting others. Her first love is teaching, and before midwifery she was a math and science teacher in the San Francisco Bay Area. Due to unforeseen circumstances, she was forced out of the career she loved, venturing out and searching for a rewarding career in service of others.
After enduring a traumatic pregnancy, where she shuffled through providers in search of supportive care, Raven knew there had to be a better way. With a big push from her family, Raven jumped into the birth world with both feet. After training as a full spectrum doula, Raven soon realized that working as doula was extremely rewarding, but knew that she wanted more . On a leap of faith, she enrolled in midwifery school and soon knew she had found her calling.
Raven considers herself a lifelong learner; each and every day she takes steps to continuing on her educational journey. She uses the latest techniques, skills, and methods to empower, support, and provide quality individualized care. Raven strongly believes that the childbearing journey is time for personal growth that culminates in a beautiful miracle. She would be honored to walk this journey with you while supporting your family.
